Operation Christmas Child — Volunteers Needed!

Help Us Send the Gospel to the Ends of the Earth!

National Collection Week | November 16–23, 2026

We are excited to announce that New Beginnings Christian Fellowship is an official Operation Christmas Child shoebox drop-off location this year! We have an incredible opportunity to serve our community while helping share the Good News of Jesus Christ with children around the world, and we need your help!

Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world as a tangible expression of God's love. But the mission goes far beyond the gifts inside the boxes. Through local churches and ministry partners, children have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and participate in The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship program that helps children learn what it means to follow Jesus Christ.

Every shoebox represents an opportunity for a child to hear about the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ!

We Need Volunteers!

During National Collection Week, November 16–23, our church will serve as a collection point where individuals, families, churches, and organizations throughout our community can bring their packed shoebox gifts.

We have several opportunities to serve, and whether you can help for one shift or several, we would love to have you! We can use anywhere from 1–4 volunteers (or more) per shift, depending on the needs.

This is also a wonderful opportunity to serve together as a family! Bring your children, invite a friend, or gather your small group and come be part of something with an eternal impact.

Volunteer Opportunities

Greeters — Be the First Friendly Face!

Welcome individuals and families as they arrive with their shoebox gifts. Help direct vehicles, assist donors in finding the drop-off area, and make everyone feel welcome and appreciated.

Hosts — Encourage and Connect!

Help create a welcoming, Christ-centered experience for everyone dropping off shoeboxes. Assist donors with their drop-off information, thank them for their generosity, share about the mission of Operation Christmas Child, and offer to pray with them.

Shoebox Unloaders — Lend a Helping Hand!

Help donors unload shoebox gifts from their vehicles, carefully transport the boxes to the collection area, organize them for counting, and record the number received. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being active and working together.

Shoebox Cartonizers — Prepare Gifts for Their Journey!

Carefully pack donated shoeboxes into shipping cartons, count and label each carton, and prepare them for the next step of their journey. You'll also have the opportunity to pray over the shoeboxes and the children who will eventually receive them.

Volunteer Training — Sunday, November 15

We will have a group training immediately following our Sunday morning worship service on November 15 for everyone serving during National Collection Week.

During this training, we'll walk through the volunteer positions, explain the collection process, and make sure everyone feels comfortable and prepared to serve.

Sign Up to Serve!

You don't have to travel across the world to be part of taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Sometimes it starts right here in our own community—with a smile, a helping hand, a shoebox, and a willingness to serve.

Grab your family, invite your friends, and sign up for a time to serve! Whether you can help for one shift or several, we'd love to have you join us.

At New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, our mission is to Love God, Love Others, and Serve the World. Operation Christmas Child is a beautiful opportunity to put that mission into action, and we can't wait to see how God uses our church family to make an eternal difference!
