Bible Education for Public School Students During School Hours

What if public school students could receive Bible education during the school day?

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship is excited to host a LifeWise Academy Information Night for families and members of our community who would like to learn more about this opportunity coming to our area.

LifeWise Academy provides Bible-based character education to public school students through what is known as Released Time Religious Instruction. Students participate during the school day with their parent or guardian's permission, while instruction takes place off school property and is privately funded. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld this model of released-time religious instruction in Zorach v. Clauson in 1952. LifeWise Academy

Come See Off School Property

As part of the evening, we'll be watching the documentary Off School Property: Solving the Separation of Church and State.

The documentary explores the history of Bible education in America's public schools, the legal framework surrounding religious instruction during the school day, and how communities across the country are using released-time programs to provide Bible education to students. LifeWise Academy

Following the film, you'll have an opportunity to learn more about LifeWise Academy, ask questions, hear about plans for our local community, and find out how to enroll your student.

What Is LifeWise Academy?

LifeWise partners with parents and local communities to provide Bible classes for public school students during school hours.

LifeWise programs are:

Off school property • Privately funded • Parent permitted

LifeWise teaches the Bible with an emphasis on what it calls the “main and plain things” of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Its approach seeks to engage the Head, Heart, and Hands of students—helping them know what the Bible says, understand how the biblical story points to the gospel, and see how the gospel shapes character and everyday life. LifeWise Academy

LifeWise has grown substantially since launching in 2019. Its current launch information reports programs serving 1,000+ public schools and more than 100,000 students across 30+ states. LifeWise Academy
